The vStory product was researched and developed over a period of eight years. The Synthespia team includes two Emmy award winners and over a hundred years of industry experience.


 

David Schachter, Founding President

David is an inventor and entrepreneur with 22 years experience in management, programming, customer support, and video production. He is a veteran of several startups including Daisy Systems, PSTI, and Objectivity. David has consulted in video production, training, and engineering for Sun, Hewlett Packard, Stanford Medical Center, IBM, Go/EO, and others. He studied computer science and electronic engineering at Princeton University and holds a patent in digital signal analysis.

 
 

Sharon Meyers, Co-Founder

Sharon is a professional engineering manager with 28 years experience. She managed large programming and QA teams at Microsoft (PowerPoint) and Nortel, and is a veteran of several startups including Daisy Systems and Logisticon. She holds a BA in Mathematics, Physics minor, with honors, and an MA in Instructional Technology, Multimedia Emphasis, with honors, from San Jose State University.

 
 

Dr. Ram Banin, Active Chairman of the Advisory Board

Ram, a Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur, helps emerging technology companies in the US and Israel. Ram also serves as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Global Catalyst Partners venture fund. Banin served as CEO of TCSI. Ram was also co-founder and CEO of Atherton Technology, as well as co-founder and SVP of Daisy Systems . He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley and an MS and BS in Physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.

 
 

Michael Edge, VP Production

Michael brings brings 16 years of production experience in multimedia and digital video to the firm and holds a BSE EE/CS, with honors, from Princeton University. One of the founders of Ledge Multimedia, he built a client base which included Microsoft, WGBH, Johnson and Johnson, Ziff-Davis, and National Geographic.

 
 

Adrian Brown, VP Content Development

Adrian is an Emmy award winning director with 30 years experience and over 1000 TV productions with the BBC and other companies. Mr. Brown chairs Synthespia's Drama Advisory Board, which includes Emmy-winner Robert Kernen, BAFTA-winner Edward Joffe, and others.

 
 

Brian Butler, Manager Business Development

Brian brings 20 years experience in broadcasting and sales marketing. He's been a technical operations manager for the BBC and holds a degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of London. Brian has experience working in promotions for two other Internet companies. He holds an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

 
 


Doug Hirsch, East Coast Sales Director

Doug brings twenty years of high-tech and Internet experience to his role of East Coast Sales Director. A graduate of Harvard University, with an MBA from the Sawyer School of Management, Doug has worked with companies such as Genuity (formerly BBN) to turn technical ideas into revenue streams.

 
 

Val Hornstein, Director of Strategic Development

Val is a prominent Intellectual Property and Business Law attorney. He has negotiated partnerships with Microsoft, VISA International, Charles Schwab, AOL, and others. Previously, Val was the VP & General Counsel to Silicon Valley pioneers Daisy Systems and OCS Technologies Inc. Val speaks and writes widely and is often quoted in the media, including The Wall Street Journal, Wired News, The Site, and as a guest on National Public Radio.

 
 


Fran Simon, Director of Data Mining

Fran is a professional market researcher and data miner with over 10 years experience. She has conducted market research and analysis for Intuit, Wells Fargo and Kaiser Permanente, and for startups such as Good Technology and ebates. Fran holds a BA in Sociology, with honors, from Cornell University and an MA in Sociology from Stanford University.
